Atacama Desert

April 2027

10 Guests // Solo

$16,200 per person

Fire is the element of the self. The Atacama strips everything back: no signal, no noise, nothing between you and the silence. In that emptiness, what isn’t essential burns off. You come alone because the only person you meet out here is yourself. This is the highest, driest, most remote desert on earth. At altitude, the air thins and the sky sharpens. The landscape is volcanic, mineral, ancient. It does not comfort. It clarifies.

A Sense of the Days

The rhythm here is dictated by the sun and your own capacity for stillness. A day might begin before dawn, driving up to 4,300 meters to watch steam rise from the El Tatio geysers in the freezing air. The salt flats stretch white and still, flamingos standing in shallow blue water against the Andean volcanoes. Moon Valley at sunset turns the dunes copper and violet. The Puritama hot springs sit in a narrow canyon, the water hot and mineral-rich, the silence total.

There are long, unstructured hours to walk the high desert, to sit, or simply to do nothing. Because the guiding is one-to-one, you move through the week at your own pace. No one is waiting for you. It is supported solitude: everything handled, nothing demanded.

The Lodge

Awasi Atacama is built of adobe, stone, and wood, hidden behind high walls in the oasis town of San Pedro de Atacama. It is entirely ours for the week. You are given a private suite with a walled terrace and a plunge pool. More importantly, you are assigned a private guide and a 4×4 vehicle for the duration of your stay. Every excursion is yours alone, built around what you want to do and the weather, rather than a group schedule. There is no itinerary pinned to the wall. There is a conversation each evening about what tomorrow might hold.
